Happy new year!
Hmm, maybe it’s a bit too late in January to be saying that now? How are you? Did you have a lovely festive season?
I’ve had a very busy time, mostly packing as I’ve moved both house and studio, again! Yes, not content with moving house and studio at the start of 2020, we did it again, during a pandemic! We’re really thankful that we were able to move during the latest Lockdown while following the Government guidelines. Thankfully this move wasn’t due to a bad landlord and awful house like the last time; my partner got a job up north so we moved during the first week in January and have been enjoying settling in since then. There are so many walks in our new local area, with a lot less people than there were in Glasgow so I’m certainly feeling less anxious.
It’s a very strange time to move to a new place where we know very few people and our daily walks with Alder (our Labrador) have been wonderful, not only for keeping us moving but keeping our heads clear and making sure we’re getting enough daylight during these very dark winter days! I’ve really noticed the difference in temperature being up here too, in fact it’s so much colder that I’ve taken to wearing a few extra layers in the house while I get used to it!
This week I’ve been catching up with your emails, commission enquiries, and reflecting on 2020 so I wanted to take another moment to thank you.
Thank you so much to every one of you who bought something from my online shop, commissioned a piece, or bought a gift voucher during 2020; you (yes you!) helped me and my small business get through a very tough year! I’m so grateful to still be here making jewellery for you this year too!
The move has helped me recharge my creative battery, despite how busy I’ve been it has given me some extra time for reflection. I’m now so excited for what 2021 has to hold. Obviously with the current Lockdown in place I’m working from home. I’ve a few orders already in my book for this and I’m looking forward to working on them. I haven’t set up my bench yet as obviously I’ve been really busy. It’s actually next on my to do list so I better get on with it now!
If you’ve been waiting to commission a piece, then now is the perfect time to get in touch with me!
