2022 postal strikes

The impact of the CWU strikes on your orders .

This year the CWU is holding strikes which may affect how quickly I’m able to get parcels of jewellery to you in the run up to the end of the year. If you’re keen to support small businesses this winter, then please buy early! Doing so gives me enough time to make your jewellery if it’s out of stock, and so that your parcel arrives in time. I send jewellery using Special Delivery which will still be prioritised through the strikes, but it’s unlikely things will be guaranteed to arrive 1pm the next working day.

I fully support the strikes, with Royal Mail Group profits of £758 million and private shareholders getting a cut of those profits they offered a 2% pay rise. With the cost of living crisis a 2% pay rise is clearly not enough.

EDIT: Some of the strikes have been cancelled so I’ll keep the dates below as updated as I can, but it’s always best to check with the CWU website which is linked below.

This means that strikes involving various sections of the workforce over the next fortnight will no longer be going ahead.

However, strikes will resume on Saturday 12th November.

The dates are as follows:

December:

1st, 9th, 11th, 14th, 15ht, 23rd, 24th

As you can see these strikes are rolling throughout areas of the company which will have an impact on how quickly things are processed through the system. As well as causing a backlog.
