Cascading Down The Glen Brooch
This brooch features two layered images with a tangle of tree branches and leaves of differing sizes, with a hint of a landscape view.
The phrase “cascading down the glen” is a phrase captured in the brooch that my family says a lot about the water or sun while on Arran. The long summer evenings when golden sunshine rushes down the glens highlighting the green of the trees and clearings is the image that comes to mind when I think of this phrase. I’ve captured that through the tangle of branches in the images and the bright almost orange-yellow of this brooch.
The brooch is 4.4 cm by 2.9 cm and 0.5 cm deep.
Steel pin fastening with a silver tube hinge and silver revolver catch.
Would suit a medium weight fabric or jacket lapel.
Cast silver frame with a lightly textured finish.
Hallmarked in Edinburgh.
