The Cairngorms + Sandwood Bay Commission
In June 2017 I had an enquiry from my website about for a commission for three pieces. These were for a special anniversary and birthday, both close together.
My client had photographs from the beautiful Sandwood Bay which he sent over so that I could draw up my designs. He wanted a necklace to show the full bay of Sandwood and a pair of earrings that would represent the giant sea stack, Am Buachaille. He also wanted a Cairngorm ring featuring the whole Cairngorm range, which I was delighted to help him with having just read Nan Shepard's The Living Mountain. I couldn't wait to get the iconic mountains onto a ring.
Here are the designs I came up with realised into jewellery. This is also an insight into the way I work, my process from designs to finished pieces. How I layer my landscapes and as these are only a fraction of the stages in the making process you can appreciate the amount of work involved.
