This brand new design of the Edinburgh bangle is made from 100% post-consumer recycled Sterling silver. A much more ethical choice than standard silver as all the metal is recycled from jewellery or products which have already been used. Beautiful and ethical!
The bangles are each individually handmade to order. I carefully hand cut each Edinburgh skyline from 0.5mm thick sterling silver and solder this onto the 1.1mm thick sterling silver bangle strip. I texture the background first so that once I have soldered on the landscape and meticulously cleaned and polished the landscape they contrast beautifully with each other. Please contact me if you would like different textures or finishes on your bangle.
From left to right the buildings are: Nelson Monument, The Balmoral, Scott Monument, North bridge, Edinburgh old college, The National Museums Scotland, St.Giles, and of course The Castle itself. The skyline section of the bangle measures approximately 75mm and can be altered to incorporate your own choice of buildings.
After thinking about all the iconic buildings in Edinburgh I decided to make up a skyline using some of the buildings from round the city. I then used a bit of artistic license to squish the buildings together to make up this skyline that is instantly recognisable as Edinburgh. The skyline has a polished finish, the background is a dappled textured finish and the inside has a smooth brushed finish.
To accurately measure your hand for a bangle, use a flexible measuring tape or slim strip of paper. Touch your little finger to your thumb, so it’s the shape you’d make when putting a bangle over your hand and loosely measure round the widest part of your hand, this should give you a number in cm that matches the sizes below. As these are made to order if you size doesn’t match, just enter the size in the comments when you place your order
Alternatively, measure the diameter of a bangle you have that fits and let me know that measurement when you place your order.
